Jane Austen in Vermont 
This looks like a fun read… something Jane would have approved. I just rewatched the 2005 P & P on TV last night (with Keira Knightly), this time around, I appreciate it a bit more. Didn’t like it when I first saw it in the theatre that year. But, still, nobody can beat Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle as Darcy and Lizzy. Have a wonderful 2014, Deb! I look forward to everything Jane Austen here!

Hello Arti – I think I was one of the few people that actually liked the 2005 P&P! – so glad to see that you feel differently about it with a second showing – have heard the worst nay-sayers have the same experience – nothing compares to the Firth-Ehle version, but I liked seeing it all from a different point of view…and they got the whole story in a 1/4 of the time, an accomplishment in itself!

Well yes, Tony, you might want to hang it in a closet, but I think you should have it if you collect “all things Jane” – though I do admit there are a few things out there that seem completely over the top – like tattoos! it never ends it seems!

Why is it necessary to turn something as important as a Jane Austen novel into a cartoon? Does everything have to be Disneyfied and reduced to the lowest common denominator?
I suppose if you haven’t got the car sticker, the keyring and the tea towel, the nodding Jane for the car back window, the badge, the window sticker and the cut out Darcy mask then in this day and age of ,”the spin off,” and the Jane Conference tat you are not a real lover of Jane Austen.. mea culpa!

Actually thinking about it Deb,, give this little lot a hundred years and they will be auctioning it at Christies. Might be worth a bit.
