  1. Hi, after reading though I think you are right–congratulations on making this catch/connection. Maybe you can propose an essay for JASNA Persuasions or an AGM. I just checked my blog essay on this same letter from several years back and I noted that it follows a letter that is missing–again per Deirdre LeFaye notes. And also, I noted Austen seemed to be frustrated and unhappy with the bookseller and the selling off of their books in quitting Steventon for Bath. Best regards, Dena

    1. Thank goodness for Le Faye and all she did for Austen scholarship! I will be speaking at this year’s AGM and will mention this book as being Cassandra’s – but it won’t be published – this alone is too short an essay for Persuasions – but believe it shall be published in the JAS Report next year… and yes, JA was unhappy having to sell off her and her father’s books for their move to Bath – I am speaking on JA as a book owner – I wonder what sort of Library she might have amassed if she hadn’t been uprooted… Thanks for visiting!
